Savings Group Training Helps 40 Market Vendors Grow Their Businesses

Vendors at Konge market during the savings group training.

Forty small-scale vendors from Konge market attended a full-day training on village savings and loan associations (VSLAs), record-keeping and basic business planning, delivered by a volunteer accountant from our club.

Participants have since formed two savings groups of their own, pooling weekly contributions that members can borrow against to restock their stalls or cover emergencies, reducing reliance on high-interest informal moneylenders.
